Loving to Be Corrected

Day 12 · November · Proverbs 12.1

Today's Verse

“Whoever loves discipline loves knowledge, but whoever hates correction is stupid.”

Proverbs 12.1 · NIV

The Story

Nobody likes hearing "you got it wrong." But think of a video game: every time you lose a level, the game shows you where you went wrong. If you get angry and turn off the game, you never get past that level. If you pay attention to the mistake, you go further next try.

The Bible says whoever loves correction loves knowledge, but whoever hates being corrected is a fool. Correcting isn't humiliating, it's helping you grow.

Think of a teacher fixing your messy handwriting, or a parent warning "don't do that, you could get hurt." That's not to put you down, it's because someone cares about you and wants to see you better.

God corrects those He loves, like a father corrects his child. When someone corrects you with kindness, it's a sign of love, not rejection.

Whoever loves being corrected grows faster.

Today's Challenge

The Correctable Student

What was the last correction you received, and how did you react? Whoever does it is the day's Correctable Student.

Family Prayer

Lord, teach us to love correction instead of running from it. Give us a humble heart that learns from those who love us. In Jesus' name, amen.
