Have you ever waited weeks for a birthday present, and each day felt longer than the last? Waiting hurts. The Bible understands that: it says that deferred hope makes the heart sick, but when the desire is finally fulfilled, it's like a tree full of fruit.
Waiting really is hard. But the secret isn't pretending it doesn't hurt, it's continuing to trust while you wait. Think of a planted seed: it doesn't become a tree overnight, but if you water it and care for it every day, it grows, even if slowly.
Sometimes we ask God for something and it seems like He's taking too long. That doesn't mean He forgot, it means His timing is different from ours. And what He promises always arrives at the right time.
Jesus is the tree of life that never goes away. When we wait for Him, even if other things take time, our heart doesn't need to get sick, because we already have the most important thing guaranteed.
Waiting with God isn't standing still, it's continuing to trust.
