Imagine a kid who doesn't follow any house rule, does everything their own way, but keeps asking their parents for money and favors. That doesn't seem very fair, right? The Bible talks about something similar with God.
It says that if someone refuses to listen to God's teachings, even their prayers lose their meaning. It's not that God doesn't like you, it's that praying without wanting to hear what He teaches is kind of contradictory.
Think of it this way: you can't ask someone for help and, at the same time, ignore everything that person teaches you. Real prayer is talking to God and also listening to what He wants to tell us, not just asking for things.
Jesus always listened to the Father before acting, and that's why His prayers were always answered. When we listen to God's teachings and try to live that way, our prayers make a lot more sense.
Real prayer is listening as much as it is asking.
