The Soul's GPS: Lamp, Light, and the Way of Life

Day 6 · December · Proverbs 6.23

Today's Verse

"God's commands are like a lamp, teaching is a light, and correction teaches us how to live."

Proverbs 6.23 · NIV

The Story

Imagine you're in a totally dark room, full of toys scattered on the floor (Legos, cars). If you try to run through it, what happens? You'll step on something, hurt your foot, and fall.

God's Word (the Bible) is like a powerful flashlight. When you turn it on (by obeying), you see where to step and don't get hurt. And when mom or dad give you a talking-to or correct you, they're not being annoying. They're holding the flashlight and saying, "Careful! There's a hole over there!" Correction is how they keep you safe on the right path.

Today's Challenge

Turn on the flashlight!

If you get corrected today (by mom, dad, or your teacher), don't get mad or pout. Remember: "They're turning on the flashlight so I don't fall in the hole."

Whoever completes it becomes the Guardian of Wisdom for day 6!
