Have you ever gotten a toy so cool you were afraid of losing or breaking it? Maybe you kept it in a special box, or asked no one to touch it without your permission. That's normal. The more valuable something is, the more we take care of it.
The Bible says that having more can help protect us in hard times, since we have more to work with when trouble shows up. This doesn't mean having good things is bad. It means that when God blesses us with more, He also expects us to learn to take better care of it, and to be ready to use it to help ourselves and others when things get hard.
Think of it this way: if you have a brand new bike, you need to remember to lock it, keep it somewhere safe, not leave it in the rain. Having more good things in life isn't just luck, it's also an invitation to grow in responsibility.
Jesus told a story like this, the parable of the talents: whoever received more had more work taking good care of what they were given. And God is happy when we take good care of the blessings He gives, whether they're big or small.
The more God gives, the more He trusts us to take care of it.
