Imagine Dad is going to take you to an amazing park. Dad already paid for the tickets, already bought the snacks, and already knows the way. Do you need to pay for the ticket again? No! Dad already paid (that was Jesus' sacrifice). Do you need to carry the heavy backpack? No! Dad carries it.
What does Dad ask of you? Just one simple thing: "Hold my hand and don't run into the street." That's obeying. God is like that. He already did the hard part (saving us). He just asks that we obey and walk hand in hand with Him so He can protect us. It's simple and it feels good!
