It says these teachings guide you when you walk, protect you when you sleep, and talk with you when you wake up. It isn't a book you only read once in a while, it's a wisdom that lives inside your heart all the time.
Think of it this way: when you learn by heart that "I shouldn't lie," you don't need to stop every time to open the Bible and check. That truth is already stored inside you, ready to warn you at the right moment, even while you're playing or sleeping.
Jesus promised to send the Holy Spirit to live inside whoever trusts in Him, guiding us in every decision, day and night. When we keep God's Word in our heart, it's like having that guide always turned on, taking care of us.
Whoever keeps wisdom in their heart has a guide that never turns off.
