The Party Glasses

Day 15 · February · Proverbs 15:15

Today's verse

“Our heart is like a pair of glasses: if the lens is dirty, the day looks ugly. If the lens is clean and colorful, every day is a party!”

Proverbs 15:15 · NIV

The Story

Imagine you put on dark, gray glasses inside the house. Everything would look sad and dark, right? Even if there's cake and toys right in front of you! That's what happens when we wake up complaining ("Ugh, I don't want to get up," "Ugh, it's raining"). We put on the "Sad Glasses" and the day turns bad.

But the Bible says whoever has a "cheerful heart" wears the "Party Glasses." Even if it rains, that person thinks: "Yay, I get to jump in the puddles!" Even if there's broccoli, she thinks: "I'm going to get strong!" Everything depends on the glasses you choose to wear.

Today's Challenge

The Gratitude Glasses

Today we're going to wear the "Gratitude Glasses." During lunch or snack time, let's play the "I See Good Things" game. Everyone has to say one good thing they're seeing (like: "I see a tasty juice," "I see mom's smile").

Whoever finds the most good things wins the party!
