Wisdom Pill · For the grown-ups to read with the kids

Shield of Peace

Day 20 · February · Proverbs 20:22

Today's verse

“If someone throws mud at you and you throw it back, you both end up dirty. The wise kid lets God clean up the mess!”

Proverbs 20:22 · NIV

The Story

Imagine you're wearing nice clean clothes, and a kid comes along and throws a mudball at you. So annoying, right? You just want to grab some mud and throw it right back! But if you do that, your hands get dirty too, and the fight will never end.

The Bible says we shouldn't "get even" when someone does something annoying (like taking a toy without asking or saying something mean). Instead of hitting or yelling back, what do we do? We call in the Authority (dad, mom, or the teacher). When we let our Father in Heaven (and our parents) handle it, we keep a clean heart!

Today's Challenge

Let's practice the "Shield of Peace"!

If your brother, sister, or a friend does something annoying today, the challenge is to not fight back! Take a deep breath, count to 3, and say: "I'm not going to throw the mud back." And call for dad if you need to.

Whoever can hold back their hands and their words wins today's peace trophy!
