The Vault's Password

Day 7 · March · Proverbs 7:1

Today's Verse

"My son, keep my words and store up my commands within you."

Proverbs 7:1 · NIV

The Story

Did you know that a bank vault has giant steel doors so no thief can steal the treasures inside? The secret combination is what opens that huge door!

The Bible says we have to guard God's words the same way! The world has lots of "wisdom thieves," like laziness, lying, and the desire to disobey, that try to steal the good things from our heads.

When dad or mom teach you something important, you can't leave the word lying on the floor. You need to put it in the Vault of the Heartand lock the door. That way, when the urge to do something wrong shows up, you look at the vault and say: "Not here! I already decided to do what's right!"

Jesus did exactly that when the devil tempted Him in the wilderness. Instead of stopping to think a lot, He opened the vault of His heart and said: "It is written..."The Word was already in there, all ready to defend Him!

Store God's words in your heart. When the urge to do wrong shows up, the vault protects you!
