The Magic Zipper

Day 11 · March · Proverbs 11:12

Today's Verse

"Whoever derides their neighbor has no sense, but the one who has understanding holds their tongue."

Proverbs 11:12 · NIV

The Story

Imagine a classmate does something really silly or says a mean word to you. The first urge is to laugh at them or say something mean back, right?

But the Bible says whoever does that loses their sense and drops down into the mess. The kid with no sense is the one who can't hold their tongue and blurts out everything they think!

The kid who has God's Wisdom has a superpower: the Magic Zipper! When the urge to say something silly, laugh at a friend's mistake, or talk back to mom reaches their throat, they go "Zzzip!", and close their mouth.

Staying silent when you're angry proves that you're the boss of your own body, just like Jesus did when he was being judged. He didn't defend himself because he had a bigger plan!

Using the Magic Zipper at the right moment is the sign that you're stronger than your anger!

Today's Challenge
