The Mouth's Traffic Light

Day 25 · March · Proverbs 25:11

Today's Verse

“Like apples of gold in settings of silver is a ruling rightly given.”

Proverbs 25:11 · NIV

The Story

Do you know how a traffic light works? When it's red, the car stops. When it's green, it can go!

The Bible says our words have a traffic light too. When mom is busy working or talking on the phone and you start yelling for attention, you're running a red light with your mouth!

But the wise kid looks at the situation first. If dad or mom is free and looking at you, the light is green. That's the right moment to say the right thing and really be heard.

Saying the right thing at the right time is like putting an apple of gold on a tray of silver: it looks beautiful and everyone wants to receive it!

The kid who waits for the right moment to speak is listened to with much more attention than the one who's always yelling!

Family Prayer

Lord, may the Holy Spirit govern our tongue, just as Jesus knew the right moment to speak. May our words be apples of gold, and never stones. Amen.
