The Superhero Breath

Day 29 · March · Proverbs 29:11

Today's Verse

“The kid without sense is like a volcano that explodes and burns everyone around them. The strong kid is like a dam: they hold back the water of anger and don't let the mess happen!”

Proverbs 29:11 · NIV

The Story

Have you ever gotten really, really angry because you lost a game, because your sibling took a toy, or because dad said "no"? It's normal to feel angry!

The problem is what we do with it. The "volcano kid" (whom the Bible calls a fool) starts yelling, throwing things on the floor, and saying mean words. The volcano's lava burns the whole house's happiness!

But God gave you the Fruit of the Holy Spirit, which has a superpower called "Self-Control." The kid who uses that power closes their little mouth, takes a deep breath, and holds the anger inside without exploding. When you can calm down without yelling, your Father in Heaven applauds from up there, because you're acting just like Jesus!

Today's Challenge

Today let's train the "Superhero Breath"!

If your sibling does something really annoying today that makes you want to yell or push, the challenge is to stop right there, close your eyes, and breathe in through your nose slowly, counting to 3.

Whoever manages to use Self-Control to avoid becoming a volcano today wins the trophy of Calm Giant!
