Planting Strawberries

Day 13 · April · Proverbs 13:2

Today's Verse

“From the fruit of their lips people enjoy good things, but the unfaithful have an appetite for violence.”

Proverbs 13:2 · NIV

The Story

Imagine that your words are seeds. Every time you say something, you're planting a little seed in someone's heart. If you plant beautiful words, like "You can do it!", "That's so cool what you made!", "Thank you!", what grows are sweet, colorful strawberries!

But if you throw out ugly words, like "That's dumb," "That's worthless," "I hate you!", what grows are thorns that hurt. And you know what's really interesting? You'll also eat from what you planted! If the garden around you is full of strawberries, life will have more joy. If it's full of thorns, it will hurt everyone, including you.

God made the whole world with words! He said "Let there be light!" and light existed. Our words have that same power to create good or bad things around us.

Every word you speak today is a seed. Plant strawberries!
