The Closed Castle

Day 25 · April · Proverbs 25:28

Today's Verse

“A castle without walls lets any little monster in. The child who knows how to take a deep breath and control their anger has the safest castle in the world!”

Proverbs 25:28 · NIV

The Story

Imagine a really beautiful castle, full of treasures, but with no door and no wall. Any villain could walk right in, mess everything up, and steal the treasures.

The Bible says our heart and our little head are just like that castle. When we get angry and start yelling, crying, or hitting things, it's like we're knocking down the castle walls. Then the "little monsters" of sadness and chaos come in and ruin our day!

But when we get upset, close our eyes, take a deep breath, and say "I'm not going to yell," we're building a giant wall of stones! Jesus was like that: even when people were mean to him, he didn't lose his calm. The strongest kid isn't the one who hits, it's the one who knows how to use the superpower of calm!

Today's Challenge

Today let's train the "Closed Castle" superpower!

If something happens today that makes you upset (a toy breaks, you can't watch TV, or your sibling annoys you), no yelling right away allowed. The challenge is to cross your arms, take three deep breaths like a balloon filling with air, and only then talk in a gentle voice.

Whoever manages to hold back their anger and keep the castle safe today wins the Knight of Self-Control medal!
