The Peace Firefighter

Day 26 · April · Proverbs 26:21

Today's Verse

“A fight is like a bonfire. If you don't add more wood, it goes out really fast! The wise child is the firefighter, not the match!”

Proverbs 26:21 · NIV

The Story

Have you ever seen a bonfire? To keep it burning, dad has to keep adding more wood the whole time. If he stops, the fire turns to smoke and disappears. The Bible says fights are just the same as a bonfire! When a friend says something annoying (the spark), if you yell back, you're throwing wood on the fire! The fight is going to get gigantic!

But the wise child is like a Peace Firefighter. When someone tries to start a fight, they take a deep breath, don't say mean things back, and go play something else. Since they didn't throw wood on it, the angry friend's fire goes out on its own. Jesus was always our Firefighter, bringing peace where people wanted confusion!

Today's Challenge

The Peace Squad

If some provocation happens, if someone takes your toy without asking or says something annoying, no throwing wood allowed! You can't yell back. Your job is to use the extinguisher: stay quiet, resolve it politely, or call dad.

Whoever manages to put out today's fires without fighting wins the Peace Firefighter badge!
