Operation Ant

Day 6 · Proverbs 6:11

Today's Verse

“…and poverty will come on you like a thief, and scarcity like an armed man.”

Proverbs 6:11 · NIV

The Story

Imagine a jar of coins with a tiny hole in the bottom. One coin slips through the hole every day. At first you don't even notice. But after a while, when you go to get them, the jar is almost empty. That's what happens when we don't act.

The Bible talks about a tiny little ant with no boss, no one telling her what to do. But she works, stores food, and never ends up with nothing when winter comes.

The lazy person says: “I don't feel like it yet. I'll do it later.” And poverty arrives suddenly, like a thief. The ant doesn't wait to feel like it. She acts.

The ant doesn't wait to feel like it. She does what needs doing, and lives well.

Today's Challenge

Ant Mission

When you act without waiting to feel like it, you grow on the inside.

Family Prayer

Lord Jesus, teach us to be like the ant: to work with joy, without needing someone to keep telling us what to do. Give us strength to act even when laziness knocks on the door. Amen.
