Brave Heart

Day 14 · June · Proverbs 14:9

Today's Verse

“Fools mock at making amends for sin, but goodwill is found among the upright.”

Proverbs 14:9 · NIV

The Story

Everybody messes up, you, me, everybody! Messing up isn't the biggest problem. The problem is messing up and not caring at all.

Imagine you accidentally bumped into your brother's favorite toy and broke it. You could choose two things: pretend it wasn't a big deal and run off, or look at him and say “I'm sorry, I did something wrong, I'll try to fix it.”

Some people do something wrong and just laugh, like it's nothing. But whoever has a good heart feels bothered by it and wants to fix it. That's not weakness, it's courage! It's easier to pretend nothing happened than to really say sorry.

And you know something amazing? Jesus loves to forgive! When we say “I'm sorry, I did wrong,” He forgives right away and even helps us do better. The Bible says: “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins” (1 John 1:9).

When you do something wrong, you get to choose: pretend it wasn't a big deal, or say sorry with your whole heart. The truly brave ones ask for forgiveness!

Today's Challenge

A Heart That Asks for Forgiveness!

Whoever does it is the Brave Heart of the day! Forgiveness doesn't just fix the friendship, it sets your own heart free.

Family Prayer

Lord Jesus, thank you for forgiving us every time we ask. Give our family courage to ask for forgiveness when we mess up, and give us grace to forgive too. May our hearts never go numb, may they always still care. Amen.
