The mouth is just like a tube of toothpaste: once you squeeze it out, there's no putting it back in!
Have you ever said something without thinking and then had that yucky feeling of “I shouldn't have said that”? A mean reply, a nickname that hurt a friend, a complaint in the wrong tone?
That's because words are exactly like that: no matter how hard you try, you can't undo what came out of your mouth. That's why the Bible warns: the fool speaks without thinking and ends up in trouble because of their own words.
The wise one isn't someone who never wants to answer anything. It's someone who learns to hold back. Take a pause, breathe, and ask: “is this going to help or hurt?”
Jesus, even when people said horrible things to Him, stayed quiet and didn't strike back. That's real strength, right? Sometimes staying quiet is what a very strong person does!
The word that comes out doesn't go back in. Think before you speak!
