Have you ever gotten a vaccine and the shot hurt? Or gone to the dentist and had that yucky taste for a little while?
Yeah, it hurt, but what was it for? To protect you, to fix the tooth, to leave you healthier than before. The pain from the needle does something no word can do: it really goes in and fixes the problem deep inside.
Solomon says correction works the same way. When someone really corrects you, a dad, a mom, a teacher, sometimes it hurts. But that pain reaches a place only it can reach and changes what needed to change.
Jesus also went through the hardest pain of all, and it was exactly because of that He was able to heal what most needed healing in each one of us.
