The Tower That Stays Standing

Day 21 · June · Proverbs 21:5

Today's Verse

“The plans of the diligent lead to profit as surely as haste leads to poverty.”

Proverbs 21:5 · NIV

The Story

Have you ever tried to build a block tower really fast, throwing the pieces on any old way? What happened? It fell down!

When we're in a hurry, it feels like we'll finish faster. But usually everything goes wrong: the tower falls, the homework comes out crooked, the drawing gets smudged. Then you have to do it all over again, and it takes way longer. But when you stop for a little bit and think first, first I do this, then that, then it comes out beautiful and stays standing.

Did you know Jesus told a story a lot like that? He talked about a man who wanted to build a tower, but didn't stop to check if he had enough materials. Halfway through building, everything ran out, and the tower stayed half-finished. Jesus taught: think and plan before you start. And God is the greatest planner of all: He prepared to send Jesus to save us long, long before, and did everything at just the right time.

Thinking first isn't wasting time, it's saving time.

Today's Challenge

The Architect of the Day

At the end of the day, share: what turned out better because you planned ahead? Whoever does it earns the title of Architect of the Day!

Family Prayer

Lord, thank You for planning everything with care and never rushing. Help our family stop and think before we act, to do things carefully, and to trust that Your timing is always the best. In Jesus' name, amen.
