The Treasure of Your Name

Day 22 · June · Proverbs 22:1

Today's Verse

“A good name is more desirable than great riches; to be esteemed is better than silver or gold.”

Proverbs 22:1 · NIV

The Practical “Why?”

Would you rather be the kid with the most expensive toy in class, or the one all your friends trust?

There's something called a “good name.” It's what people think of you because of what you always do. The friend who tells the truth, keeps their word, and helps others earns a good name: everyone wants to play with them. But whoever lies, even with lots of toys, ends up alone, because nobody trusts them.

Money buys toys, video games, new sneakers. But there's one thing no amount of money can buy: people's trust. You earn that by being good and truthful, one day at a time.

You know who has the most important name in the whole universe? Jesus! And He earned that name not by boasting, but by loving, serving, and helping everyone. And the most beautiful part: He wants to write YOURname in heaven, because He loves you.

Money buys toys, but it doesn't buy trust.

Today's Challenge

Family Prayer

Lord, thank You that Jesus' name is the most important of all. Help our family build a good name by telling the truth and keeping our promises, and to remember that being loved by You is worth more than any riches. In Jesus' name, amen.
