Have you ever tried to sleep with a dripping tap? Drip, drip, drip. Each little drop is so small, almost nothing, but after a while it gets so annoying that nobody can rest, right?
The Bible says complaining nonstop is just like that: each complaint seems small, but when it never stops, it wears out everyone in the house. You know when someone spends the whole day grumbling, like “this is wrong,” “I don't like that,” “nobody helps me”? After a while, people stop even listening to what's being said and just hear the noise.
There's a better way: say it once, kindly, and then give thanks for the good things. A house full of gratitude is a lovely place to live; a house full of complaining wears everyone down. And when someone in your house is grumbling, you can choose not to grumble back and give them a hug instead.
Complaining nonstop is like a dripping tap: each drop is small, but it tires out the whole house.
