Before anything else: God doesn't want you to live in fear. He wants you to live paying attention, and those are two very different things.
Whoever lives in fear just freezes, thinking everything will go wrong. Whoever is prudent does something else: looks, notices, and takes action. You already do this every day without even thinking about it. Before crossing the street, you look both ways and wait for the car to pass. When you ride a bike, you put on a helmet. When the sky turns dark, you bring an umbrella to school.
Nobody calls that being scared. That's being smart. The prudent kid isn't the one who runs the fastest; it's the one who looks before running.
There's a good part too. Sometimes mom, dad, or whoever takes care of you says: don't do that, don't go that way. They're not trying to ruin your fun. It's that whoever is taller sees farther, and they've already spotted a danger you can't see yet from down here.
And when the danger is too big for you to handle alone, there's the best hiding place in the world: Jesus. You can tell Him, ask for help, and call an adult who loves you. You never have to face anything alone.
