Before anything else: God loves you all the time, even when you do something wrong and can't stop on your own. His love never goes away.
Have you ever tried to untangle your earbud cable after it's been in your pocket for a while? Feels like bad magic, right? Nobody made that knot on purpose. It formed by itself, one little loop at a time, and by the time you noticed, it was already like that.
There are things in our lives that do exactly that. It starts really small, so small we don't even notice. Staying on the game a little longer, and then a little longer still. Telling a small lie and then needing another one to hold up the first. Answering rudely when you're angry and starting to think it's normal.
Each of those little loops seems like nothing. But add a bunch of them together and it becomes a knot. And then the day comes when you want to stop and find out it's gotten hard to do alone.
Now here comes the most important part, so pay close attention. When the knot is big, we don't need to hide out of shame. We ask for help! You tell God, who never gets upset with anyone who comes close, and you also tell your dad, your mom, or an adult who takes care of you. Two hands untangle a lot better than one.
