Before anything else: God loves you and knows you completely, inside and out. He knows what you feel even when you can't explain it.
Have you ever had a stomachache? The really annoying kind, that makes you want to cry?
Now notice something: when you have a stomachache, mom stays by your side, gives you cuddles, warms up a little bag, and takes care of you. But there's one thing she can't do, even though she wants to a lot: she can't feel the pain inside your tummy for you.
It's strange to think about, right? The person who loves you most in the world can't get inside you.
Today's verse talks about exactly that. You have feelings that only you feel. When you're sad because a friend didn't want to play, no one feels that exact size of sadness the way you do.
And here there are two pieces of good news. The first is that, even without feeling your pain, the people who love you can stay by your side. Staying together already helps a lot, even in silence.
The second is the best one of all. There's Someone who knows exactly what you're feeling, and that Someone is God. The Bible says something amazing about Him: even before you speak, He already knows what you're going to say.
So, when you can't explain what you're feeling, not even to dad and mom, tell God anyway, in the messy way you feel it. He understands.
