Before anything else: God loves you on the days you get everything done and on the days you don't feel like doing anything at all.
Imagine your mom asks you to put your toys away. And you answer: oh, I can't, my leg hurts.
Then, two minutes later, the doorbell rings. It's your friend, asking you to come ride bikes.
And the leg heals instantly. A miracle!
Everybody has done this, you know? I have, you have, your dad has. It is not something to feel ashamed about. It is something to get wise about.
Today's verse tells about a man who did the same thing, only with a much bigger excuse. He didn't want to go out and work, so he said there was a lion in the street waiting to grab him.
And notice something funny: nobody ever saw that lion. Not even him, because he never went out to look.
That is how it works. When we don't really want to do something, we invent a nice big lion, because nobody argues with a lion.
And almost every time, when we finally go and look, the lion wasn't there. There was only the street.
