Wisdom Pill · Day 20

The Rehearsal You Cannot Do on the Day

September 20, 2026 · For the grown-ups to read with the kids

Before anything else: God loves you every single day, including the days when you leave everything for later.

Imagine your class is going to do a performance at school. The teacher sets a rehearsal every week for three weeks.

Then you go to none of them. On the day of the performance, you try to learn the whole thing five minutes before going on stage.

What happens? Your mind goes blank. And it is not because you cannot do it. It is because some things only work when they are done at the right time.

Today's Bible verse talks about a farmer who did not get the soil ready in the right season. When harvest time came, he had nothing to harvest.

It works like that for lots of things: training for the game, studying for the test, brushing your teeth, tidying your toys.

And look at the lovely story Jesus told. A man had a fig tree that had produced no figs for three years, and he told the gardener to cut it down.

Then the gardener asked: "leave it alone, sir, just one more year; I will dig around it and put in some fertilizer."

Jesus is like that with us. When we let the time slip by, he asks for one more chance and then helps us grow.

Doing it at the right time means harvesting without panic.
Family Challenge

Today's challenge is called The Keeper of the Right Time.

At the end, talk about it: what became easier because you did it on time?

This time's challenge: The Keeper of the Right Time
Family Prayer

Lord, thank you that you give us new chances. Help our family to do things at the right time, instead of leaving everything for later. Teach us to take care a little every day. And thank you for Jesus, who asks for one more chance on our behalf. In Jesus' name, amen.
