Wisdom Pill · Day 28

The Library Book Story

Before anything else, God loves you all the time. Doing the right thing does not buy his love or guarantee a present.

Imagine a friend at school saying, "Tell the teacher you saw me return the library book." You did not see that happen. You do not need to guess what happened. You can simply say, "I didn't see it. Let's check together."

A good friend can help look for the book or speak to the teacher. You do not have to say you saw something you did not see. If your friend keeps pushing you, ask a teacher or another trusted adult for help. You do not have to solve the whole problem by yourself.

Sometimes you may repeat something and later learn it was wrong. Tell a trusted adult what you know so they can help put it right. You are not responsible for a trick someone played on you.

Jesus did what was good, even when people tried to trap him. He loves you and helps you take the next honest step.

A good friend can help check the truth without pretending to know it.

Today's challenge is called The Truth Check.

  • 1Pause when a friend asks you to repeat something you have not seen.
  • 2Say only what you know: "I didn't see it, but we can check."
  • 3Ask a trusted adult for help if you feel pressured or unsure.

At the end, talk about it: what could you say to help your friend without claiming you saw the book returned?

This time's challenge: Truth Checker

Lord Jesus, thank you for loving us all the time. Help us tell the truth, ask for help when we are unsure, and treat our friends with kindness. When we make a mistake, help us take the next honest step. In Jesus' name, amen.
