God loves you before you do anything right, and he still loves you when you make a mistake. Being fair is a way to care for people. You do not have to earn God's love by getting everything right.
Imagine that each child gets six blocks to build a little town. The person organizing the game asks for two blocks from each child to make a bridge everyone can use. The group gets its bridge, and each child still has blocks for a house.
Now imagine that the organizer demands five blocks from every child. The bridge might be bigger, but hardly anyone would have enough pieces left for a house. Before asking for more, the organizer needs to look at what will be left for everyone else.
Proverbs speaks about rulers and money. Taxes are adults' responsibility, not yours. The game teaches a smaller lesson: when you ask for something, think about the person giving it. Jesus taught his disciples to serve and gave his life to save many. You can follow him in a game by listening before using everyone's pieces.
