"not been willing to let me correct you." (Proverbs 1:25, GNT)
Imagine you are putting together a jigsaw puzzle. An adult notices that a piece is in the wrong place and shows you where it fits. You say that you understand, but leave the piece where it is and try to force the others into place. You heard the helpful tip. The puzzle is still waiting for you to try doing something differently.
Sometimes this happens with things we agree to do. Someone asks us to wait for our turn to speak. We agree, but soon we interrupt again. We can stop, apologize, and try once more. Learning does not require getting everything right on the first try. It asks us to accept help and practice one step at a time.
Jesus told a story about two sons. One said he would not do what his father asked, but later changed his mind and did it. The other said he would do it and did not. Jesus showed us that we can change a wrong response. God loves you when you get things right and keeps loving you when you still need to learn. You do not have to get everything right to earn that love. Jesus offers us forgiveness and help to do what is good.
Good advice cares for you and other people. If someone asks you to do something that hurts, frightens you, or seems wrong, talk to a trusted adult. You are allowed to ask questions. And when you receive guidance that truly helps, choose one small action to put it into practice.
Golden phrase: "A good tip helps more when we try doing something differently."
