Wisdom Pill · Day 4

One Good Choice at a Time

Day 4, so Proverbs 4...

Proverbs 4:18 (GNT):

"The road the righteous travel is like the sunrise, getting brighter and brighter until daylight has come."

Have you ever woken up very early and watched the sky get lighter? First, a little light appears. Then it becomes easier to see the tree, the window, and the path. The sun does not need to appear all at once for the day to begin.

Learning to do what is right takes time too. You may be learning to wait your turn or to talk when you feel angry. Today, you might manage to ask for a toy instead of snatching it from another child's hand. That is a good choice worth noticing.

If you make a mistake, you can tell the truth, say you are sorry, and try again with help. God does not stop loving you when you make a mistake. His love is not a prize for good behavior. Jesus loves us and teaches us to care for each other.

You do not need to solve grown-ups' problems or get everything right. You can ask for help and do good in things children do: listen, share, show respect, and tell the truth.

Golden Phrase: "With Jesus, I learn one good choice at a time."

Mission: Let the Good Show!

  • 1Choose something you are learning, such as waiting your turn.
  • 2Practice it once today. If it is hard, ask a trusted adult for help.
  • 3Tell your family what you managed to do and what you still want to learn.

Question to discuss as a family: "What good action has become a little easier for you?"

"Jesus, thank you for loving me while I learn. Help me tell the truth, ask for help, and care for people. When I make a mistake, teach me to admit it and try again. Amen."
