Wisdom Pill · Day 8

Strength to Help

Day 8, so Proverbs 8!

Today we read Proverbs 8:14 (GNT). The verse shows Wisdom making plans, carrying them out, and bringing together understanding and strength.

Imagine your friend is building a tower of blocks. You want to help, but you start grabbing everything and changing how the game works. Even with a good idea, you might make your friend sad. Before using your hands, try using your ears: "Can I help? How would you like to do this?"

Being strong does not mean bossing everyone around. You can use your strength to carry something light with someone, your creativity to invent a game everyone can join, and your courage to tell the truth without hurting others. Thinking, agreeing, and doing turn the idea of caring into action.

Jesus taught us to serve. He loves us before we do any task well. God's love does not depend on getting everything right or being the best: it is a love you do not have to earn. When you make a mistake, you can ask for forgiveness and try again with help.

You can also ask a trusted adult for help when something is difficult or dangerous. You do not have to solve grown-ups' problems or prove you can do everything alone. Wisdom includes knowing when we need someone beside us.

Golden Phrase: "My strength can do good!"

  • 1Ask someone at home: "How can I help safely?"
  • 2Agree on a small task, such as putting away toys or setting out napkins.
  • 3Do it together and talk: "What got better because we helped?"

Question for the family: "Which of your abilities could help someone today without bossing them around?"

Strong Hands, Caring Heart

Let's pray: "Jesus, thank you for loving me even when I make mistakes. Teach me to think before acting, ask for help, and use my abilities to care for people. Amen."
