Day 10, so Proverbs 10!
Today we read Proverbs 10:15 (GNT). The verse shows that having resources can help us face difficulties, while not having what we need makes life harder.
Imagine it is snack time and a classmate has nothing to eat. You might have something you can share after talking with an adult. Before helping, ask kindly. Your friend's hunger should not become a joke or a story to tell everyone.
Money buys important things, like food and clothing. But a new backpack or an expensive toy does not make someone worth more. Those who have less are not loved less. We can care for what we have and treat everyone with the same respect.
Jesus welcomed Zacchaeus, who was rich and needed to change how he lived. After that encounter, Zacchaeus wanted to help the poor and make amends for what he had done wrong. Jesus teaches us to care for people. His love does not depend on having a lot, sharing a snack, or getting everything right.
Household bills are grown-ups' responsibility. If you feel worried or notice someone lacks what they need, tell a trusted adult. You do not need to solve money problems or give away something you need to prove you are good.
Golden Phrase: "People are worth more than the things they have!"
