Wisdom Pill · Day 13

A Tip That Takes Care of You

Day 13, so Proverbs 13... Verse 14 (GNT):

"The teachings of the wise are a fountain of life; they will help you escape when your life is in danger."

Imagine you have a new game and want to start right away. Someone who knows how to play explains a rule. You listen, understand what to do, and enjoy the game more. In other situations, learning also helps you avoid danger: a trusted adult teaches you to wait for their help before crossing the street. This teaching does not spoil your fun; it takes care of you.

Proverbs compares good teaching to a fountain of life. Just as water is good for you, truthful guidance can help you grow, respect people, and recognize when to ask for help. You do not have to learn everything alone or prove that you already know every answer.

You can ask questions too. If you do not understand an instruction, say, "Can you explain it again?" If someone asks for something that hurts you, another person, or makes you afraid, go to a trusted adult. Good guidance does not need to make you hide pain. Protecting and caring for children is the responsibility of adults.

Jesus loves you before you get anything right. His love does not depend on learning quickly, winning the game, or never making a mistake. He offers us life and teaches us to love. With his help, you can listen to good teaching, try a safe action, and start again when you need to.

Golden phrase: "Good guidance helps me grow with care."

Learning to Care

  • 1With a trusted adult, choose something small and safe to learn, such as a rule of a game.
  • 2Listen to the explanation and ask a question if you do not understand.
  • 3Try what you learned and thank the person who taught you with kindness.

Family conversation question: "Who taught you something that helped keep you safe?"

Today's playful title: Learning to Care. You are loved even while you are still learning.

Family Prayer

Let us pray: "Jesus, thank you for loving us before we get anything right. Help us recognize good teaching, ask questions, and seek help when we need it. Teach us to care for people and to learn with kindness. Amen."
