Day 15, so Proverbs 15... Verse 8 (GNT):
"The LORD is pleased when good people pray, but hates the sacrifices that the wicked bring him."
You took your brother's drawing without asking and accidentally tore part of it. Then you offered him your favorite pencil so he would stop talking about it. Sharing the pencil is good, but the drawing is still torn. The gift does not tell the truth or, on its own, help fix what happened.
Proverbs teaches that we do not need to try to impress God with gifts. We can speak to him honestly. If you did something wrong, you can say: "Jesus, I tore the drawing. I feel ashamed and need help telling the truth." With a trusted adult, go to your brother and see whether you can tape the paper or make another drawing together. He may still feel sad, and you can respect the time he needs.
Making a mistake does not make you a child without value. Jesus loves you before you get anything right. You do not need to give something to buy that love. You can ask for forgiveness, receive help, and learn to care better for other people's belongings. Adults' problems and feelings are not your responsibility; protecting and guiding you is their job.
Jesus told a story about a man who prayed without hiding his need for forgiveness. He shows us that we can approach God honestly. Doing good is not a bargain to earn affection. It is a way to care for people, knowing we are already loved.
Golden phrase: "I can tell the truth and ask for help to make things right."
