Day 17, so Proverbs 17... Verse 14 (GNT):
"The start of an argument is like the first break in a dam; stop it before it goes any further."
You and a friend are building a track. One wants the curve to go right; the other wants it to go left. So far, these are two ideas. But someone makes a face to provoke the other, a piece gets pushed away, and the game begins to turn into a fight.
The proverb compares the start of an argument to a crack in a dam. A small opening can grow bigger. While you are playing, you can take care of this early: stop the teasing and say, "Shall we try one idea at a time?" If it is difficult, a trusted adult can help.
You can disagree and explain how you feel. You do not have to accept being hit or threatened. If this happens, move to a safe place and find an adult. It is not your job to solve adults' arguments; they are responsible for protecting children.
Jesus taught people to work for peace and did not let his disciples turn rejection into revenge. He loves you before you get anything right, including when you need help to say sorry. With this love and the care of those nearby, you can try another way to play.
Golden phrase: "I can stop the teasing and ask for help to talk."
