Wisdom Pill · Day 20

The Game with Changing Rules

Day 20, so Proverbs 20... Verse 10 (GNT):

"The LORD hates people who use dishonest weights and measures."

Everyone agreed that each person would have one turn. When your turn comes, you want two. When your friend asks for the same thing, you say, "You cannot do that!" The rule changed just for you. Even if no one complains, the game is no longer fair.

The proverb talks about people who cheat when buying and selling. In your life, you can learn not to hide a piece, change the score, or invent a rule just to win. Winning is no better when someone has to be tricked.

Jesus teaches us to treat others with the care we want to receive. If you changed the rule, you can tell the truth, give back the turn, and agree to play again. Ask a trusted adult for help if you do not know how to sort things out. You do not need to manage bills or fix grown-up problems.

Jesus loves you before any victory and still loves you when you make mistakes. His love does not depend on winning or getting everything right. With his help, you can acknowledge what you did, make amends where possible, and learn a fairer way to play.

Golden phrase: "The game's rule applies to me too."

A Fair Game

  • 1Choose a game with someone in your family and agree on the rules before starting.
  • 2During the game, respect each other's turn and count points without hiding anything.
  • 3If someone makes a mistake, pause, talk, and correct it together.

Question for a family conversation: "How do you feel when someone changes the rule just to win?"

Today's playful title: Friend of Fair Play. You are loved every time you try to learn.

Family Prayer

Let's pray: "Jesus, thank you for loving us when we win, lose, and make mistakes. Help us tell the truth and play fairly. Give us courage to admit mistakes and ask for help. May our joy also care for those who play with us. Amen."
