Wisdom Pill · Day 28

The Toy That Would Not Fit

Day 28, so Proverbs 28... Verse 26 (GNT):

"It is foolish to follow your own opinions. Be safe, and follow the teachings of wiser people."

You open a construction set and think, "I already know!" One piece does not fit, but you keep forcing it. Then someone shows you the instruction picture: that piece goes somewhere else. Looking at the picture or accepting help did not make you less capable. You learned a better way to continue.

Proverbs teaches us not to treat everything we think as though it were always right. We can try, ask, and learn. Wanting to do something one way does not mean it is the best way. Listening also does not mean obeying just anyone: look for an adult who cares for you, explains respectfully, and lets you ask questions.

Jesus teaches us to hear his word and practice it. He is the good shepherd who loves and cares for his sheep. His love does not depend on your building everything without help, getting it right the first time, or never disagreeing. You can tell the truth when you make a mistake and learn with loving help.

Today, choose something small to learn with an adult: a game, a simple task, or how to use some materials. Solving grown-up problems is not your job. Adults are responsible for teaching patiently, protecting you, and helping you understand.

Golden phrase: "I can learn without having to get everything right on my own."

Good Choice Detectives

  • 1With an adult, choose a simple task and explain how you thought you would do it.
  • 2Check an instruction and ask a question about something you do not yet understand.
  • 3Try what you learned and describe what changed.

Question for a family conversation: "What did we learn today because we agreed to check before insisting?"

Today's playful title: Good Choice Learner. You are still loved while you learn.

Family Prayer

Let's pray: "Jesus, thank you that we are loved even when we make mistakes or need help. Teach our family to listen, ask, and put your word into practice. Give adults patience to guide us lovingly and children courage to share their questions. Thank you for your care as our good shepherd. Amen."
