Day 30, so Proverbs 30... Verse 33 (GNT, paraphrase):
Churning turns milk into butter, a blow makes a nose bleed, and stirring up anger leads to conflict.
A friend invents a nickname for someone. Some children laugh, but the child given the nickname feels sad and asks them to stop. The game can change direction right then: listen to the request and choose another way to have fun. When only one side finds it funny, we need to care for the person who feels hurt.
Proverbs shows that what we do has consequences. Repeated teasing can increase anger and end in a fight. You may feel angry and ask someone to stop, but you do not need to hit or humiliate them in return. Move away if necessary and find an adult you trust. Adults should listen and protect; you do not have to solve this alone.
Jesus loves you before you get anything right, and his love does not disappear when you make a mistake. He teaches us to care for people. When a man was hurt during his arrest, Jesus stopped the aggression and cared for the injury. With his help, we can learn to stop, apologize, and change the game.
Today, notice whether everyone is having fun. If someone says, "I don't like that," listen. If you feel sad, you can tell someone who cares for you. It is not your job to keep adults calm or settle their arguments. Children need care, and respecting children is adults' responsibility.
Golden phrase: "When someone asks me to stop, I can listen and care."
