Day 1, so Proverbs 1... Verse 21, in simple language based on the GNT:
Wisdom calls to people in the places where they meet.
Your friends are building a track with toys. Everyone talks at once, and one child tries to point out that the track is blocking the door. Nobody listens. If everyone stops for a moment, they can find a better place to play. A good conversation needs attentive ears, too.
Proverbs shows Wisdom calling in the places where people meet. We can learn to make room for a good idea while playing, at school, and at home. You can ask, "Has anyone noticed something we haven't seen yet?" Then listen to the answer and think together.
Jesus met Zacchaeus along the road and went to his home. That encounter changed how Zacchaeus treated people. Jesus also helps us learn to listen, tell the truth, and change our minds when we notice a mistake. If you feel confused or someone does not respect what you say, you can ask a trusted adult for help.
You do not need to take responsibility for adults' decisions or make sure nobody gets upset. Adults are responsible for listening, teaching, and protecting. Jesus loves you before you get anything right. His love does not shrink when you interrupt someone or need help learning. We can start again and practice a more thoughtful conversation.
Golden phrase: "I can listen to a good idea before deciding."
