Day 4, so Proverbs 4... Verse 12, a simple paraphrase based on the GNT:
Wisdom helps you follow the right path, even when you need to hurry.
You are learning a new game. First, an adult explains where to go, where to wait, and how to look after the others. Then the race begins. Remembering what you learned helps you play more carefully. Wanting to finish first does not have to make you forget other people.
Proverbs speaks of walking wisely and not stumbling when you run. For us, the lesson is learning to choose well even when we are in a hurry. We can listen to instructions, look before moving, and ask for help when we do not know what to do.
Even when careful, children can fall, become frightened, or get confused. That does not mean Jesus has stopped loving them or that every injury was their fault. Adults need to prepare a safe place, supervise the game, and care for anyone who gets hurt. You can tell someone what happened.
Jesus loves you before you get anything right and keeps loving you when you make mistakes. If you pushed someone or said something hurtful, you can ask for help to acknowledge it and repair what you can. Learning takes time. You do not have to hide a mistake to receive care.
Golden phrase: "Even in a hurry, I can remember to care."
