Working Your Own Ground (The Execution of the Basics)
The farmer doesn't get rich overnight. He wakes up early, prepares the soil, plants the seed, pulls the weeds, and waits for the rain. It's repetitive work, often boring and without glamour. But it's exactly the consistency in that "well-done basic" that guarantees abundance. Your "land" is your current profession, your marriage, your main project. That's where you're meant to sweat.
The Trap of Fantasies
"Fantasies" here represent get-rich-quick schemes, miracle investments, the "new hack" in marketing, or the idea that the neighbor's business is easier than yours. Whoever abandons their own ground to chase these mirages loses time, energy, and capital.
The Final Diagnosis ("Has No Sense")
The Bible doesn't say that whoever seeks shortcuts is just "naive"; it says they lack intelligence. We believe we're clever for trying to skip the process of sowing and reaping, but God's law is unchangeable: true wealth only holds up on deep roots that take time to grow.

Jim Collins describes the concept of the Flywheel Effect. Great companies didn't reach the top through a "fantasy" (a miraculous merger, a magical overnight technology, or a celebrity leader). They pushed a heavy flywheel in the same direction, day after day, push after push (they worked their own ground), until the accumulated momentum generated spectacular growth.

The victim lives waiting for a winning lottery ticket or a savior. He lives on "fantasies" because he's too lazy to face the painful process of change. The self-responsible person picks up the hoe. He understands that "abundant food" (financial, family, or health success) is the exclusive responsibility of the sweat he leaves on his own ground every day.
The temptation to go "chase fantasies" was exactly what Satan offered Jesus in the wilderness (Matthew 4). The devil showed Jesus all the kingdoms of the world and said, "All this I will give you, if you will bow down and worship me." It was the ultimate shortcut: the crown without the need for the cross. A fantasy of quick power.
But Christ rejected the shortcut. He chose to "work the thorny ground" of obedience to the Father, enduring the process, the sweat, the blood, and the cross. It was through the hard work of the crucifixion that He secured "abundant food" (salvation) for all humanity. Following Christ means having the maturity to flee the world's "fantasies" and embrace the cross of our daily work with excellence.
