Reflection: The Test of Saturday
Today is Holy Saturday. Historically, it's the most distressing day of the Christian faith. Friday was the day of pain and sacrifice. Sunday will be the day of glory and victory. But Saturday is the day of silence: the body is in the tomb and the heavens seem quiet.
It's very easy to accept God's Word when you're on top of the mountain, with the company profitable and your health perfect. But the real test of wisdom is: can you "accept what he said" when you're in the "Saturday" of your life?
When the diagnosis is bad, the account is in the red, and God seems silent, the instruction to accept the Word demands everything from you.
Jesus had warned several times: "The Son of Man will be killed, but on the third day he will rise." The Word had been spoken. But on Saturday, the disciples locked themselves away in fear and wept without hope. They heard, but didn't internalize the promise.
When you're in the waiting room of life, your only anchor is remembering what Wisdom told you in the light.
The tomb isn't the end of the story, it's just a transition process. God works in silence. The promise of a "long and good life" was already guaranteed, but it required passing through the 24 hours of waiting.
Trust the process. God's silence isn't abandonment; it's the Father preparing the stone to roll away.

Today the stone is sealed. Roman soldiers guard Jesus's tomb. Hell celebrates, thinking it has defeated Wisdom.
But Proverbs 4:10 echoes into eternity. God the Father said to Jesus: "Accept what I say, drink this cup, go down into death, and you will have a Long Life to distribute to all of humanity."
In the silence of this Holy Saturday, you might be living through a season where God seems not to answer your prayers. The lesson of the cross for you today is: trust the process. Keep Christ's promises in your heart. Hold steady, because Resurrection Sunday is coming.
Today's Challenge: The Seed's Patience
Write down somewhere, on paper or on your phone, a promise of God you're still waiting to see fulfilled. One area of your life that still seems to be in Saturday's silence.
Next to it, write: "Sunday is coming." Keep that paper. Reread it when the waiting feels heavy.
Today isn't a day to rush. It's a day to trust the God who works in the dark.
