On a big ship, there's a Captain who commands everything. He knows where the ship is going, knows the map, sees when a storm is coming. The sailors obey the Captain not because they're afraid, but because they trust that he knows more. When the Captain says "turn left!", everyone turns. Why? Because he sees what they can't see from where they are.
The Bible says the beginning of all Wisdom is understanding that God is our Captain. He sees what's ahead, knows the dangers, and knows the right destination. When we obey Mom and Dad, we're obeying the Captain that God placed on our family ship!
