Have you ever seen a knight fight without a shield? He gets hurt fast! Lying is like poking a hole in our armor. If we lie about brushing our teeth or hide that we broke a toy, we get scared of being caught, our heart beats fast, and we lose our peace.
But the Bible says God protects the kid who is upright and honest. In other words, when you tell the truth, even if it's to say "It was me who dropped it, mom," God places an Invisible Shield around you. Honest kids walk with their heads held high and aren't afraid of anything!
Truth is your shield. The more you tell the truth, the stronger it gets!
