Day 23, so Proverbs 23... Verse 9 (GNT):
"Don't try to talk sense to a fool; he can't appreciate it."
Two children are learning a game. One asks to hear the rule again and tries it. The other interrupts with jokes and will not let anyone finish. Both may need help, but there is a difference: asking to understand is not the same as making fun of the person teaching.
The word "fool" in the proverb is not a name to call your classmates. It does not mean someone who learns slowly or thinks differently. The warning is about treating teaching with contempt. You can ask questions, need time, and say you still do not understand. Adults should help patiently, without humiliation.
Jesus loves you before you get anything right, including when you make mistakes or take time to learn. His love does not depend on answering quickly or winning a conversation. With him, we can admit when we interrupt someone and try listening again. Learning does not mean pretending we know everything.
If a game turns into mockery or a conversation makes you feel threatened, find a trusted adult. If the first does not help, find another. It is not your job to persuade an aggressive person or solve adult problems. You can ask for care and protection.
Golden phrase: "I can ask to understand and listen without making fun."
